报告摘要:
Optically active rare-earth and transition-metal ions strongly influence the optical and luminescent properties of solid-state materials, with applications in lighting, displays, lasers, sensing, imaging, and information storage. This talk will introduce their electronic structures and optical transitions, focusing on 4f–4f and 3d–3d transitions, crystal-field effects, local coordination, and host-lattice influences. Key luminescence processes, including excitation, relaxation, energy transfer, radiative emission, and nonradiative decay, will also be discussed. Emphasis will be placed on the links between electronic structure, local symmetry, and optical behavior, providing a foundation for designing functional photonic and luminescent materials.
